Riezel Buenaventura acquires silver in 2024 World Masters

Filipina pole vaulter Riezel Buenaventura claimed a silver medal in women’s pole vault (35-39) of the World Masters Athletics Championships in Gothenburg, Sweden.

Buenaventura registered a height of 3.13 meters behind the 3.45 meter of her German rival.

This is the country’s second medal after the silver of Danilo Fresnido in the javelin throw event. 

Meanwhile, master athletes Judith Staples and Drolly Claravall will be seeing action in the women’s discus throw, while Benigno Marayag will compete in the men’s long jump on Monday, August 19.
