AC Miner posted 10 points against Galeries

ZUS Coffee sweeps Galeries behind AC Miner’s all-around game

AC Miner led the charge as the Zus Coffee Thunderbelles extended their winning streak with a commanding sweep of the Galeries Tower Highrisers, 25-22, 25-16, 25-16, in the 2025 PVL Reinforced Conference on Tuesday, October 14, at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Miner earned Player of the Game honors after posting 10 points built on 7 attacks, 2 aces, and 1 block, showcasing her all-around efficiency and composure at the net. Her presence on both offense and defense set the tone early, helping ZUS Coffee establish control and maintain momentum throughout the match.

With the victory, ZUS Coffee improved to 2-0 in Pool B, solidifying its early position as one of the top contenders in the conference. Miner’s steady leadership and consistent play continue to be key factors in the Thunderbelles’ unbeaten start.

ZUS Coffee will next face the Creamline Cool Smashers on Thursday, October 23, at the FilOil EcoOil Arena.

Cignal HD Spikers clinch their fifth win against Galeries Tower

Undermanned Cignal shines with dominant win over Galeries Tower

Cignal showed no sign of depletion as they overpowered Galeries Towers in straight sets, 25-17, 25-20, 25-19, in the 2024-25 Premier Volleyball League (PVL) All-Filipino Conference at the Philsports Arena on Tuesday, January 21.

Despite entering a new era without key players Ces Molina and Riri Meneses, the HD Spikers kicked off their campaign with a 5-1 record.

“Very thankful because we won in straight sets, and I’m proud of the team because what we’ve been working on in training is starting to show. But, of course, we still need to keep working until we master what we want to achieve and execute it in every game,” coach Shaq delos Santos said as Cignal made its way through the remainder of the conference without Molina and veteran middle blocker Meneses, who both chose not to extend their contracts with the team.

Vanie Gandler led the charge for the HD Spikers, being the lone player to reach double-digit scoring. She finished with 17 points built from 13 attacks, three aces, and a block.

PVL: Galeries Tower tallies first win in Cebu

The Galeries Tower Highrisers finally enter the win column in the 2024-25 PVL All-Filipino Conference by beating the Capital1 Solar Spikers in a 26-24, 25-14, 25-23 sweep on Saturday, December 7, at the Minglanilla Sports Complex in Cebu.

Julia Coronel, the No. 3 overall pick in the inaugural draft, had her best game so far in the pro league as she produced nine points, highlighted by five service aces, including four straight at the start of Set 2. She also had 10 excellent sets.

Jewel Encarnacion, another Galeries rookie, put up a solid outing with 10 attack points to go with back-to-back 10-point showings from mainstay spikers Ysa Jimenez and Andrea Marzan.

Meanwhile, Leila Cruz, Coronel's former La Salle teammate, put up 14 markers and five digs that went for naught as Capital1 absorbed its fourth loss in five games.

The former DLSU captain finally won a game after failing to do so in their first four games. The win also broke the 10-game slump of the Solar Spikers since April.

In their Saturday match, Coronel brought out her effort in the young career that she has.

Akari and Galeries Tower to open PVL All-Filipino Conference

The Premier Volleyball League’s highly-anticipated 2024-25 All-Filipino Conference will begin today, November 9, at the Philsports Arena which will run for six-long months.

The Akari Charges and Galeries Tower Highrisers will play for the opening game to kick off the new season at 4:00 pm. Both clubs are looking to improve after having contrasting performances in the previous Reinforced Conference.

Akari surprised the league by making it to the Finals but losing the title to Creamline, while Galeries Tower finished winless at the bottom of the 12-team field.

The Chargers, led by Ced Domingo, Fifi Sharma, Faith Nisperos, and Ivy Lacsina, will aim to maintain their positive attitude from that historic run in the championship round and establish themselves as serious contenders for the title.

The Highrisers, on the other hand, will attempt to overcome a somber past and get into the spotlight, with setter Julia Coronel of Alas Pilipinas making her debut and spikers Roma Joy Doromal, Jewel Encarnacion, and Alyssa Eroa contributing firepower.

Choco Mucho and Petro Gazz will face off in the main event at 6:30 pm with the goal of trying to get their quest for the first All-Filipino title off to a victorious start.

It will be a different world now for the Flying Titans after the departure of Maddie Madayag, who brought her act to the Japan SV. League.

However, Choco Mucho remains committed to its championship dreams, with Sisi Rondina, Dindin Manabat, Isa Molde, Cherry Nunag, and the returning Kat Tolentino leading the way.

Meanwhile, the Angels have kept their roster intact, with players like Myla Pablo, Djanel Cheng, Remy Palma, MJ Phillips, and Brooke Van Sickle always ready to fight.
