PLDT eliminates ZUS Coffee, advances to PVL On Tour semis
PLDT ousted ZUS Coffee to advance to the semifinals with a 25-21, 25-21, 25-19 win in the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) On Tour quarterfinals on Thursday night, August 7, at the Philsports Arena.
Savi Davison led the High Speed Hitters with 28 points built from 25 attacks along with 10 excellent receptions, while Kim Fajardo facilitated the offense with 19 excellent sets.

“Another goal of ours was to slowly reintegrate her (Sav) into the lineup when she returned. At the same time, it’s also out of respect for ZUS, especially players like Jov (Gonzaga), who have consistently been scoring double digits these past games. So we were really looking for someone to counter that, and that’s where Sav came in,” said coach Rald Ricafort in Filipino.
“It was a bonus that she was able to carry the load that’s usually shared between Kiesha (Bedonia), Jovy, Kianna, and our middles. Hopefully, we can keep improving so Sav won’t need to take that many attempts moving forward.”
PLDT clinched its first semifinal appearance since the 2024 Reinforced Conference and stands as the league’s only unbeaten team with a record of 6-0.
Jovy Prado and Kianna Dy contributed 10 and 8 points, respectively, as the High Speed Hitters now await the winner of the Creamline-Fram Fresh knockout quarterfinal on Saturday, August 9.
Meanwhile, AC Miner paced the Thunderbelles with 13 markers, while Chinnie Arroyo chipped in 10 in the conference-ending loss.
