Prediction: Who will be the PBA Season 49 Governors’ Cup finalists?

The Final Four of the PBA Season 49 Governors’ Cup is already in the middle of their best-of-seven series.

Crowd-favorite Barangay Ginebra wanted to be the Kings of the said conference once again led by their ever-reliable import, Justin Brownlee who’s still producing his usual numbers at the age of 36.

Meanwhile, the league winningest ballclub San Miguel Beermen will try to show their dominance again to get back in the Finals and get their 30th championship of the franchise led by the eight-time MVP June Mar Fajardo.

But before their goals will come into fruition, they have to face each other in the semi-final round.

As of writing, Ginebra has a 2-1 advantage in the series and will try to win another one to be a game closer to the championship round but the Mighty Beermen are eager to tie the series and make it a longer one.

Prediction: If the “Brownlee Effect” will continue to flow in Ginebra’s campaign, they will be in the Finals once again but if June Mar Fajardo and company showed how mighty the Beermen are, they will be the one who will enter the championship round once more.

In the other series, Elimination Round top-seeded teams TNT Tropang Giga and Rain or Shine Elasto Painters are grinding out their own match-ups.

Their first two games belong to the defending champion TNT led by their prized import Rondae Hollis-Jefferson while their last game belong to RoS when the Elasto Painter relied on the heroics of their hardworking import Aaron Fuller

The series is a battle of a veteran team that seems dominating a younger team but the fresh legs of the latter also showed that they can match-up with the big guns as long as they persevere.

Prediction: If TNT’s defending champion status comes into play, the series could be finished in 5-6 games but if the Elasto Painters youth becomes the strength of RoS, they will be the one to wrap-up the series in Game 6 or Game 7.

The Ginebra-San Miguel series should go the distance in Game 7, while RoS-TNT might have a roller coaster one.
