UAAP: KQ to chase his ultimate dream in the NBA
After the Green Archers failed to clinch the coveted championship in the UAAP Season 87 Men’s Basketball, Kevin Quiambao is about to leave his team for good.
The De La Salle power forward confirmed this after signing a contract with the Goyang Sono Sky Gunners to play in the Korean Basketball League (KBL).
In his post on social media, he said that he will continue his plan to play in the NBA someday.
“With that being said, my college career comes to an end. I will pursue my NBA dream and start my journey by playing professional ball in Goyang Sono Skygunners and developing my game even more,” Quiambao said in his post.
He also thanked those who supported and trusted in his ability to lead the team even though it did not win the championship and was limited to only 13 points in Game 3.
“To the Lasallian Community, OSD, thank you for three wonderful seasons, a lot of sweat, tears, and sacrifices. Thank you for making me a great student-athlete,” said Quiambao, who was the hero of La Salle’s Finals Game 2 comeback to secure a do-or-die Game 3 only to fall short of Peyups in a sudden-death match,” Quiambao added.
“I can’t thank you enough for unwavering support. Thank you for believing in me and pushing me to reach my potential. I am so grateful and blessed to have you guys,” the two-time MVP concluded
Quiambao will be remembered for winning two MVP trophies and a championship in Season 86.
