TNT looks to stay perfect against Converge
TNT Tropang Giga will try to stay on top of Group A in the PBA 49th Season Governors’ Cup as they face Converge FiberXers on August 27, Tuesday, 5 p.m. at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum.
The defending champions won their first two games of the conference behind the spectacular plays of last year’s best import of the conference, Rondae Hollis-Jefferson who tallied 32 points, 10 rebounds, five assist, and four steals in their first game where they defeated the NorthPort Batang Pier 101.95
Hollis-Jefferson then followed it up with a nearly triple double performance as he tallied 25 markers (14 in the 3rd period), 12 boards, and eight dimes in a blowout game against Meralco Bolts, 93-73.
On the other hand, Converge will try to get back on track as they split their first two games.
The FiberXers won their opening game with a big win against Terrafirma, 127-95 behind import Scotty Hopson’s explosive game who scored 46 points, and also shot 3-of-3 from the four-point line. Alec Stockton also added 21.
Hopson was only limited to 26 points while Stockton to three when they bowed down to Magnolia Hotshots 105-93 in their second assignment.
Meanwhile, San Miguel Beermen will also try to have a 3-0 record when they battle the 0-1 Barangay Ginebra at 7:30 p.m.
