Team Philippines, Carlo Yulo to return home on August 13
The Philippine Team, including the two-time gold medalist Carlos Yulo, that competed in the 2024 Paris Olympics will be back in the country on August 13.
“The other athletes and I are going back on the 13th,” said Yulo in Filipino during an interview with Frontline Pilipinas.
The country is currently preparing for a hero's welcome as the Philippines won multiple gold medals in a single Olympics for the first time in the men’s artistic gymnastics floor and vault events.
Once Yulo returns home, it will be a busy schedule for him, who will be feted with a grand parade by the City of Manila.
“Everything is planned and there are people who will handle and help me,” Yulo added.
Yulo shared that there are activities already lined-up upon his arrival to the country where he is also expected to take a much-needed break following a lengthy training in preparation for the Olympics.
Fellow Olympians and boxers Nesthy Petecio and Aira Villegas also bagged bronze each after reaching the semifinals, matching the country’s four-medal haul in the Tokyo Games – its biggest in Philippine Olympic history.
The Paris Olympics will close on Sunday, August 11.
