Three days after becoming only the second player to win back-to-back United States Golf Association (USGA) championships, Rianne Malixi soared to new heights, climbing to World No. 5 in the latest World Amateur Golf Rankings.

The 17-year-old Malixi climbed seven notches from her previous 12th spot in the rankings, with an average of 1191.6600 points, after her victory in the US Women’s Amateur in Tulsa, Oklahoma over the weekend.

“It is amazing, it was surreal,” Malixi told Golf Channel about her back-to-back victories. “Winning two USGA events is such a huge achievement. Being the first player from the Philippines to earn these titles means the world to me. It is an honor to represent the Philippine flag.”

In addition to her US Women’s Amateur Open crown, Malixi also won the US Girls Juniors last July 20 and the Australian Masters of the Amateurs in February.

Malixi also posted six Top 10 finishes this year including runner-up finishes in the Royal Juniors in Japan last April and in the Junior Invitational at Sage Valley, USA in March.

England’s Lottie Woad continues to lead with an average of 1339.3273 points, followed by Spain’s Julie Lopez Ramirez at 1307.1521, Korea’s Minsol Kim at 1282.2250, and Zoe Campos of the US at 1202.1809.
