PVL gears up for All-Filipino Conference slated November 9

The much-awaited Premier Volleyball League (PVL) All-Filipino Conference is scheduled to take place over six exciting months, with clubs competing for supremacy on the court in action-packed matches and intense competition.

The Philsports Arena in Pasig will host the season opener on November 9, 2024, and fans are excited to see what promises to be one of the most surprising and evenly matched seasons yet.

Entering the season as the squad to beat is Creamline, the current PVL powerhouse and recent Grand Slam holder. The Cool Smashers are anticipated to keep setting the bar high as their roster is mostly intact.

Creamline is expected to make its first appearance on November 16 against long-time rival Petro Gazz at the Ynares Center in Antipolo City.

In an effort to contend with Creamline’s dominance and sustain a competitive advantage, a number of teams have made roster adjustments.

"With the depth of talent in the league, fans can look forward to a truly competitive conference," said PVL President Richard "Ricky" Palou. "This season, we've seen teams making strategic moves to enhance their rosters, which should make for some exciting matchups and surprises along the way."

Continuity has been the guiding principle for teams like Cignal, Petro Gazz, Choco Mucho, PLDT, and Akari, while Chery Tiggo is navigating through a transitional phase.

Following the exits of EJ Laure and Buding Duremdes, the newly revamped Chery Tiggo, managed by coach Norman Miguel, had chosen to focus on its development and have signed young players with a lot of potential.

Additionally, Capital1, Nxled, Zus Coffee, and Farm Fresh will be out to create an impression in the upcoming season. The mentioned teams overhauled their rosters during the off-season, adding talented players who offer energy and new talent into the league.

Fans will also have the opportunity to see their favorite volleyball players from across the nation. The PVL’s first-round preliminary round will take place outside of Metro Manila, with stops in Candon Ilocos Sur on November 23, Cebu on December 7, and Passi, Iloilo on February 22.

The All-Filipino Conference begins at 4:00 pm at the Philsports Arena with a matchup between Akari and Galeries Tower, while the main event will see Choco Mucho take on Petro Gazz.
