MMA: Joshua Pacio to finally close the book on his rivalry against “Monkey King” on February 2025
The long wait is over.
After receiving a green light from his doctor, Joshua “The Passion” is now cleared and ready for some training and action to face him for the third time and close the book against Jarred Brooks in ONE Strawweight MMA World Championship unification at ONE 171 on February 20, 2025.
This third showdown between the two talented rivals is set to take place at the Lusail Sports Arena in Qatar where they once met and fought last March of this year.

“I can’t wait to see the third fight between Joshua Pacio and Jarred Brooks to determine who will reign supreme as the undisputed ONE Strawweight MMA World Champion,” ONE Chairman and CEO Chatri Sityodtong said.
Aside from the third clash of Pacio and Brooks, one of the highlights of ONE Strawweight MMA World Championship is the return of English kickboxing megastar Jonathan “The General” Haggerty, who will defend his ONE Bantamweight Kickboxing World Title against Chinese striking star Wei Rui.
“ONE 171: Qatar is already shaping up to be one of the biggest spectacles of the year. Jonathan Haggerty is a certified superstar, but he is set to face one of his toughest tests yet in Chinese icon Wei Rui,” Sityodtong added.
Filipino MMA Fighter Pacio won the ONE Strawweight World title via disqualification after Brooks spiked his head onto the canvas in the first round of their championship rematch at ONE 166 in Lusail, Qatar.
Pacio emerged as the ONE strawweight champion following the bout, but he also aggravated a knee injury that has kept him out of competition for most of 2024.
