Kevin Quiambao registers career-high 36 in first-ever KBL win

Kevin Quiambao’s 36-point outing guided the Goyang Sono SkyGunners to an 86-82 victory against the Wonju DB Promy in the Korean Basketball League 2025 season on Sunday, February 2, at the Goyang Gymnasium.

In his first victory as a professional, Quiambao unlocked a new career-high in rebounds, pulling down 12 boards on top of his 12-of-26 shooting from the field, including 6-of-14 from beyond the arc.

The two-time UAAP MVP from De La Salle University also contributed three assists and two steals to help the SkyGunners end its four-game losing streak to improve their record to 11-24 for the season, but remain at the bottom of the 10-team league.

Additionally, this is the third consecutive time Quiambao’s career-highest scoring total has been reset since he made his debut on January 13 following an ankle injury.

Lee Jae Do and DJ Burns posted 17 and 12 points, respectively, to backstop the 23-year-old’s eruption for the SkyGunners.

Wonju, on the other hand, has been free-falling after losing four games in a row. Based on the current rankings, they are in danger of dropping out of the playoffs with a 16–20 record.

Lee Gwan Hee top scored for the Wonju with 29 markers on top of three rebounds and one assist, while Filipino-American KBL MVP Ethan Alvano was impressive with 18 points.
