Creamline continues impressive record with win against Capital1
Creamline maintained their perfect record, securing its fifth win at the expense of Capital1, 25-19, 25-19, 25-18, in the 2024-25 Premier Volleyball League (PVL) All-Filipino Conference on Tuesday, January 21, at the Philsports Arena in Pasig.
The Cool Smashers sustained their title as the lone undefeated team in the conference, improving their record to 5-0 in the standings.
The team was dominant from beginning to end, with Tots Carlos, Jema Galanza, and Alyssa Valdez leading the defending Grand Slam champions in the third set with a 7-1 run, giving them a 16-10 advantage.
Creamline kept up their momentum as Lorie Bernardo and Galanza completed the match, before Patty Orendain's error sealed the victory.

“I’m thankful for the players, especially for the two key players returning. We’re happy because our team is getting healthier, and since the conference is long, we really need to help each other out in playing. I’m happy they’re back—that’s the No. 1 thing,” coach Sherwin Meneses said, referring to Carlos and Valdez.
Galanza led the charge for the Cool Smashers with 12 points built on 10 attacks and two aces, along with 10 excellent digs and five excellent receptions.
Kyle Negrito orchestrated the team’s attack with 14 excellent sets. Bea De Leon and Valdez added eight and seven markers, respectively, while Michelle Gumabao registered six points off the bench.
Creamline will aim to tally their sixth win when they take on the Nxled Chameleons on Tuesday, January 28, at the same venue.
The Solar Spikers, on the other hand, dropped to a 1-5 record for 11th in the standings.
Trisha Genesis finished with 10 points to go along with five excellent receptions in her debut with Capital1, while Jorelle Singh and Rovie Instrella contributed seven and six markers in the losing cause.
Capital1 will try to return to the win column when they face ZUS Coffee on Saturday, January 25.
