“We had a great start and controlled the game, but in the second set, our receiving was a bit off. By the third set, we were able to adjust to what Akari was doing,” said coach Dante Alinsunurin.

“And it continued until the fourth set, so I’m very thankful for how we played. Every time we faced a problem, we were able to make the necessary adjustments and execute them well,” he added.

Sisi Rondina led the way for Choco Mucho with 18 points off 17 attacks and one block, while also adding nine excellent digs. Santiago-Manabat contributed 12 markers to pace the Flying Titans to a 6-3 standing, sitting in joint third with sister teams PLDT and Cignal.

Deanna Wong orchestrated the offense with 11 excellent sets while also posting four points, and libero Thang Ponce led the defense with nine excellent digs and nine excellent receptions.

Choco Mucho will gun for five in a row against the Nxled Chameleons on Thursday, February 13, at the same venue.

Akari, meanwhile, dropped to a shared sixth place with Chery Tiggo (5-5).

Ivy Lacsina top scored for the Chargers with 18 points, tallying 13 attacks, three blocks, and two aces. Faith Nisperos and Fifi Sharma supplemented 13 and 10 points, respectively.

Akari aims to bounce back when they battle against Cignal on February 18.
