Akari sweeps Choco Mucho to claim PVL All-Filipino bronze
Akari wasted no time in claiming a podium finish, sweeping the Choco Mucho Flying Titans in straight sets, 25-15, 26-24, 26-24, to capture the bronze medal in the 2024–25 Premier Volleyball League (PVL) All-Filipino Conference Finals.
The Chargers quickly established dominance, capitalizing on Choco Mucho’s early unforced errors to build momentum. A blistering 7-0 run in the second set showcased Akari’s composure and control, as they kept the pressure on the Flying Titans.
With their firepower on full display, Akari surged to an 18-12 lead. However, a screening violation gave Choco Mucho a much-needed break, halting Akari’s run and shifting the tide.

The purple squad rallied behind this momentum, tying the set at 20-all following an unsuccessful challenge on a ball hit by Gretchel Soltones, which was ruled out.
Sisi Rondina then gave Choco Mucho their first lead of the match at 22-20 with a powerful down-the-line attack.
But Akari refused to back down. Eli Soyud stepped up in crunch time with consecutive hits that brought the Chargers back into contention, turning the set into a thrilling race to 26.
Camille Victoria then delivered the knockout blow with a clutch service ace, clinching the second set for Akari and deflating any hopes of a Choco Mucho comeback.
Best Player of the Game: Eli Soyud
Soyud powered the Chargers with 18 points, composed of 15 attacks and 3 blocks. Her consistent offense and net defense proved to be the difference-maker, especially during the tightly contested second set. Her poise under pressure earned her Player of the Game honors.
This bronze medal marks Akari’s best finish in an All-Filipino Conference and their second consecutive podium finish, following a silver medal performance in the 2024 PVL Reinforced Conference.
