Philippine gymnastics’ golden boy Carlos Yulo was predicted to win medals at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games.

The International Gymnast Online - an e-zine and kwon as the leading source of gymnastic news wrote in their July 21 preview of the men’s apparatuses that Yulo will land a gold medal in the men’s floor exercises over defending Olympic champion Artem Dolgopyat of Israel.

One of the IGO staff wrote online, “If Carlos Yulo of the Philippines manages to be consistent, he could easily top the field on floor.”

As for the men’s vault, which IGO thinks is “the most competitive event in Paris,” Yulo is predicted to land a silver medal while Artur Davtyan of Armenia is predicted to win gold as he remarked by IGO for his consistency.

Three years after barely missing a podium finish in the Tokyo Olympics, Yulo is returning to the grandest stage of them all with a vengeance and will try to add an Olympic title in his long list of accomplishments.

The 24-year-old gymnast emerged as the highest-ranked eligible athlete in the qualifying round of last year’s World Artistic Gymnastics Championship held in Antwerp, Belgium despite missing a podium finish.

Yulo is among the first Filipino athletes who will first plunge into action in the Paris Games when the Philippine delegation begin their Olympic campaign on August 3. Others who will start the journey on Saturday will be boxer Eumir Marcial, and rower Joanie Delgaco.

The Philippines will be sending 22 athletes in the quadrennial meet - gymnastics (4), boxing (5), weightlifting (3), rowing (1), fencing (1), golf (2), athletics (3), swimming (2) and judo (1).
