“I am so proud of my team because we helped each other and the locals stepped up in the game,” said team captain Jorelle Singh, who poured 10 points and nine digs in the win.

Middle blocker Des Clemente earned Player of the Game honors after putting up 14 markers on 11 attacks and three blocks, but a bulk of their points still came from their Russian import Marina Tushova who unloaded a game-high 35 points that she laced with 31 spikes.

Thai import Chuewulim Sutadta, on the other hand, carried the fight for the Highrisers with 22 points, while rookie Jewel Encarnacion produced her best game with 19 markers, while Roselle Baliton added 11 as Renee Mabilangan tossed 18 excellent sets.

Capital1 bolstered its quarterfinals bid after taking a 5-3 win-loss card, while Galeries ended the conference winless.

The Solar Spikers now await their foes in the knockout quarterfinals where they seek to continue their giant-slaying ways and hopefully deliver the glory.
