Spike & Serve Philippines Inc. is once again on the move, driven by its passion for reaching and helping aspiring athletes in communities across the country. The primary objective of their latest outreach, held on Tuesday, July 1, was to support the active grassroots volleyball scene in Barangay Sabang, Morong, Bataan.

Led by founder Nicole “Tiammy” Tiamzon—who is also a member of the PVL All-Filipino champions, Petro Gazz Angels—Spike & Serve returned to Barangay Sabang to engage with the Volleybukids program.

These young grassroots athletes were given a hands-on opportunity to deepen their understanding of the sport and learn directly from professionals. In line with the mission, vision, and goals of Spike & Serve Phil’s, the organization remains committed to helping the youth not just become better athletes, but also responsible citizens and future leaders in their communities.

Tiamzon and the entire Spike & Serve team also expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the Petro Gazz Angels for supporting both the organization and meaningful initiatives like this one, aimed at empowering the next generation of volleyball players. “To my team, the Petro Gazz Angels—thank you for supporting us. Thank you very much,” said Coach Tiammy.

Meanwhile, Pedro Bravante Aquino Jr., founder of the grassroots program Volleybukids, shared his appreciation for the continuous support from Spike & Serve and the Petro Gazz Angels, who took time to share their knowledge and passion for volleyball. “I’m also thankful to Ate Nicole for reaching out to us and supporting our organization through the efforts of Spike & Serve,” Aquino said.

He also reflected on the humble beginnings of Volleybukids in early 2020. At first, they faced challenges in joining competitions and even experienced discrimination from other sports organizations.

Despite these struggles, Aquino never lost hope and believed that, one day, they would overcome and succeed in their mission. Furthermore, he emphasized the value of passion and having the right attitude toward sports as key to achieving their goals. “When you’re doing something for the sake of the group, do it with passion.

Trust your teammates, and learn to be kind to others—because good things will come back to you,” Aquino added.
